Speech recognition, caption drawing, and video export run on this device, in the browser or the installed app, using WebAssembly or WebGPU. The video file is not uploaded to a server.
The first time you transcribe, this device downloads a Whisper model (about 95 MB of weights) from Hugging Face or from a copy bundled with the app. That download is the model, not your video. Later runs can use the browser cache.
A lifetime pass sends the license key, or a store user id, to the license service so it can check the purchase and return a signed token. The video is not part of that request. If a regional price is needed, the license service returns a country code from the host and does not store the request.
The app keeps a project on this device: caption edits, the chosen style, and, when the file is 512 MB or smaller, a copy of the video. The video copy is removed after a successful export or after 24 hours without use. License data is stored under kc.license.jwt, kc.license.key, and kc.license.instance. Export credits use kc.exportCredits. Consent uses kc.consent.
Sponsor clips load only after you choose Accept or Reject, and only from the export screen. Reject, or a Global Privacy Control signal, keeps those clips non-personalized. Analytics load only after Accept, and only when a Plausible domain is configured for this build.
There is no account on this app. Payment records stay with Lemon Squeezy, Apple, or Google, depending on where you paid. Use the receipt from that merchant to reach them. Delete local data removes the license and project from this device only.
